Subject: Looking at Strip Tillage

I farm 2000 acres - 50/50 of Corn-soybean rotation. However, I see my corn acres increasing due to the opportunity in marketing with local Ethanol Plants being built.

What are the opinions of you on here of the best way to start stip tilling.

I currently do the following:
Combine
JD disc-ripper
Field Cultivator
Plant
Spray

Any one striptilling into standing corn stalks? Would like to replace my disc ripper with strip tillage and then no need for field cultivator either...

How deep are you going?

Putting N,P, K on with this rig?

Then starter with the corn? Side dressing corn later?

What is something that is 12 row that I can strip till with and use a 250 horse FWA tractor?
