Dad's Jet trailer is a 2002 model, the doors open so easily we have to lock them when dumping into a swing away or they will creep shut on their own.
Do your's crank hard when the trailer is empty too? Maybe the rollers need oiled where they turn. Maybe one side is one cog off from the other causing a bind. Also maybe rust has built up between the gear/track and the door and is causing the gears to be meshed too tightly together.
