Subject: RE: He was asking about a real baler

Wyoming

I've seen other brands of big square balers come into this valley, only to leave on a truck and be replaced by a Hesston. The guys using big balers place a premium on reliability, because they're looking to move the hay off the field fast. NH, Deere and Freeman big balers just seem to have more problems more often, which the big bale guys won't tolerate here.

Watching my neighbor move his hay with a Hesston 4910 is a wonder. He can bale a 125-acre pivot with a 2T/ac crop in one night with two big balers. With his accumulators, he can drop most all his bales in one line, at most two, across the pivot. He has the bale pick-up custom'ed by a guy with forks on a loader and a truck with two trailers.

From windrow to bale stack takes no more than 12 hours for the whole pivot. He has the water back on typically 20 hours after he started baling.
