Subject: RE: Straight pipe on 4055?

Bardstown,KY
Our 4055 is runnig at 160hp also ,I like the muffler just for the noise reason. We had a 4240 with no cab that was turning around 190hp with a straight pipe it was loud my dad never would put a muffler on it because he said it would get hot and we would have to cut the hood because of the turbo that had been added. I don't care to hear all that noise anymore.
That 4240 was a good tractor turned 190hp from nearly new and we sold it 5 years ago to the neighbor with 5500 hours on it they were hard hours stayed hooked to a kewanee disk that pulled hard most of its life did twice what a 4240 should have .Guess my grandfather was to tight too buy a bigger tractor they put the boush A pump on it with a turbo and aftercooled it .Now the neighbor rows hay with it at the same hp burns 10 gallons hour pulling the disk maybe a little much for a hay roller LOL.

Well i've rambeled enough guess i'll go back out in the heat 98 here now.
