Looks like a sound idea. Quality of material will determine a host of things (or lack thereof). Might call your state DOT and see if it is legal. Call the manufacturer and get their testing data. Could be very useful and if made of the material your kingpin is made up of, don't see why it wouldn't be road worthy.
