Subject: Can I cut 22" corn silage with a 3x30" head?

Looking at cutting some silage this year with our droughty conditions. I don't really want to hire someone to come in with a big cutter and a rotary head and charge $500/hour. The trouble is that I'm on 22" rows and i'm wondering if a 30" head would work? Any comments, suggestions, or experience?
