Subject: Dead weeds do not produce seed

Nebraska
Would like to make a bold statement. These resistant weeds are not a cause of overuse of a herbicide. Many factors can contribute. First is it tough to kill weed or is it resistant. Many times operator error and low cost practices can get these two mixed up.

Plants also have many biotypes in their gene pool. Lets say tall waterhemp has 5 different biotypes and 3 of them are in this field. If you are spraying the same herbicide over and over agian you are killing off the 2 of the biotypes and leaving the one that has some form of resistance to the chemical. This resistance many belive is a natural resistance to the herbicide. So the chemical are not changing the DNA of the plants but natural selection is occuring and eventually this resistant variaty of the weed will go to seed. Remember! Dead weeds do not produce Seed!

Thank You
