I ended up buying a good used transmission for it off Ebay for a fraction of what a few new internal shifting components would have cost to fix inside mine. It now shifts and stays in gear fine and I have reverse and high range again. Clutch pulley came off rather easily as it is on a tapered shaft. Turns out I had a fine threaded screw from a gear puller that matched up with the internal threads so I did not have to buy a clutch puller tool. I'm still waiting for a few parts to finish putting it back together. I ordered them from Ronnie's that was posted on here. Turns out I had a gas leak on the carb also. When I tore things apart one of the wire loom clips had broken and let the wiring harness rub against the carb bowl and had worn through it letting gas leak out. I also needed a new rubber boot from the carb to the air filter box. |
