Subject: Re: 1999 Challenger 55

The 55 has a more durable undercarriage. It produces 13,000# of belt tensioning force while Deere produces 10,000#. The CAT system stays in alignment better for improved belt life. The 55 was designed to be a tracked machine, it is better balanced. The 55 has elastomeric bushings on the hardbar and cab mounts for improved ride on the road and in the field. Hydraulic controls are manual, not as easy to change flow rates. The 55 has better visability over the hood but not as good to the sides. Engine and transmission have proven to be reliable, resale is good.
