Grabill, Indiana | Seth:
I installed a Haytech Stroke Counter on my baler last year and love it. Like Bill, I can generally tell the number of strokes per bale, but with the counter there is no doubt. It is also useful if you can't run the baler, you simply tell the operator "keep that number as close to XX as you can".
The system operates using magnets attached to a hay dog and the needle arm. When a new stroke occurs it breaks the magnetic field on registers another stroke on the unit. When the needles trip a different magnetic field is broken and the total number of strokes for that bale are shown at the display.
The last telephone number I had for the Lehman's is 541-882-2571.
