NC KS
My version stored in my memory (bad place), agrees with the first part of the story. Kinze was buying planter units from Deere and the supply was cut off. I think Deere was short on planter units meaning they couldn't build them fast enough to fill all orders. Kinze started making his copy. If one were to research the patent records, Deere's Maximerge planter had various patents by various individuals going back many years prior to Deere actually building them and that is what Kinze's lawyers proved. If you can't sleep some night, just print off some of the patent rights on it and read away.
