Subject: RE: The problem with liquid products

Thumb of Michigan
I should have added on my post below- although we haven't tested in a couple of years, we were testing our well water for iron and calcium among other things. The results were very variable depending on time of year. Long story short, 17# of dry AMS was way too much or not nearly enough depending on the time of year and rainfall to date. Water changes. I wish we could get set up too catch rain water as I don't think any AMS would be needed. I don't have any problems using the liquid products that I've used so far. I'm sure there are some bad products out there, but when trying to tie up minerals in the spray water there are many, many effective substitutions available. Dry AMS is by far the least desirable for us when we have products that are easier to use and don't require the volumes that dry does. It isn't rocket science, all we're doing is keeping the bad stuff from tying up the good stuff. If it comes in a jug and works (our tests show it does), then thats what I'll use.
