| That was my thought ,I have seen a good # of them in 'taters that havent killed the grass weeds......
Also would tend to think lightning as it looks as if all the dead plants went down at the same time, not as a progression like i would expect from a soil-borne disease.
cut open a few stems and see if there is a laddering look to some of the areas of pith... that is usually the definingmarker in veggie crops, we see a fair amount of it here.
