| Man you guys must grow ALLOT of grass to support that many cows on so few acres! Our cows would croak in 3 weeks here in fresh spring pasture at less than an acre and a half. yet alone make it year around even on the best years.
We are experienceing a drought here currently. Lots of brown ....... and, not much grass at all.Things are burning up.No rain in sight. It will probably wipe out alot of farms since the crop input expense is at a record high.
250 cows is a lot of cows. My family and I used to milk 20 head for around 45 years and that was enough.
Milk is worth about $10.00 - 10.30 U.S. per 100 lbs here.
Personally our 1946 IH H tractor with a wide front set up for the old 38 inch corn rows gets used to run one of the sickle mowers. The kids could take the 4320 JD instead to mow , but they always perfer the old H | |
