Subject: RE: Hauling Hay by rail

Southeast Wyoming

Our county cooperative extension agent lined up a guy from Canada to buy hay in our area a number of years ago.  The guy came down and contacted a few hay growers.  He liked the hay in this area and wanted to have us load it in a box car; payment would be based on condition of the hay when it arrived at his location.  I think he went home empty handed.  If hay begins to sweat in a box car/container, it probably would not be worth anything in a few days.  We certainly were not interested in his deal.

UP's motto for many years was "We can handle it!"

HANDLE it yes; deliver it - that may take some time.
