Subject: RE: Deutz DX tractors?

Heavy tillage with duals mounted seemed to be what caused a lot of problems with the transmissions. American made at the same time had just a lot more iron though out the rearend, something else gave before an expensive part. Reminds me of a neighbor who would replace shearpins with grade 8 bolts so he wouldn't have to keep replacing them all the time, he would complain of having gearbox problems, well duh! Can't say I haven't done it but also knew to fix it right once I had the right pin, cheap repair vs what could happen.
Don't try to pull more then what is recommended and the tractors last a long time, especially the engines. Good luck!
