Are you sure it's the OD?? Or the converter lock up? From the driver's seat, they basically feel the same. On a 99 (and I'm not that familiar with the guts) it isn't as much of an electronic tranny that one thinks. But I may be wrong there.

I had a small 2.5 in a vehicle once, I tapped into the lock up circuit when the conditions were right, I'd flip in and out of lock up as determined by ME, rather than the constant in/out/shifting the tranny did by itself.
