Subject: No corn now for two years- Sad here

Its been a bad 2 years here in southern Illinois. This year could be worse. Last really good rain was May 14- 1 inch of rain/ been tenthing along since then. Corn WAS beautiful, now it is in state of ruin. No rain over the hoiliday weekend with tassels showing and leaves falling from the stalk are sad signs of another lost year. I sit and wonder Why Again two years in a row? I do have insurance but what good will it do me next year with my averages going down, down and down. Farming was much better in the 90's when it rained. Diesel at 2.50- 3.00/ fertilizer going up/ mortgages staying the same and equipment getting older and more wore out. How long do you go. We used to be able to make a living down in the southern part of illinois, Looks like a rough fall again. What do you other folks do to take your mind off of it all? Going on a big vacation this year is out again/ just not fair.
