Don't know how much of a hurry your in to get the plow, but a spring reset is alot less maintainance. Ex-Friend had 1450 series JD hyd. re-set, we kept system charged with tarp strap on hyd. lever. JD tractors(at least the 30 series) also had a plug in the back for a dumpline which you will need for the thing to be able to trip.
If you have time to shop, auctions are good places to find a deal on plows. Saw acouple of 508 (I think)SAR Whites sell for under 1500$ this winter. These are held in very high esteem around here by many as being one of the best ever built. I didn't buy one because I've already got 6-16 Oliver, and 7-18 Deere sitting at home. I got the Deere at a farm auctionfor 600$ and all the iron on it was fresh(un-used--not new) so I didn't think I could go to far wrong taking a chance.
