Hagen Brothers farms,Goodrich ND | My experience is limited to the one I had in a White 8800 combine and neighbors who had them in Massey combines. Had lots of mechanical problems with that smokey, hot running monster and parts were hard to get.It ended when the crankshaft broke in #6 rod journal. It turned out they used 4 different crankshafts, and mine was the oddball no one had. When I went shopping for a crank at the local combine salvage yard, every crank either needed grinding or had been ground, which indicated to me that they are none too durable. A great many of the cranks were ruined because of that stupid splined damper mounting system that would come loose. My opinion of the Perk 354 became even lower when the local Massey dealer stated that he stocked 2 crank/damper assys at all times,as they were sure to sell a couple every harvest.Made me glad when mine was gone and never wanted to see another. I repowered the combine with another brand engine.
