Subject: Japanese beetles

I have japanese beetles to some extent every year, but this year they are thick. Mostly they are working on trees in the yard and we're trying to control them with sevin and traps, but there is a fair amount out in the corn field (thicker near the trees). The corn is a few weeks away from tassling and the damage is not very severe yet (lots of bugs though). What is the normal standard to control for japanese beetles? Usually, I've heard they did not do enough damage to make economically sound to spray for them - is this still true?

Thanks for your help,

Pat
