NE SD | Definitely use the Grazon. It has been a HUGE success on our farm for controlling thistles and leafy spurge in pastures, ditches, etc. It's a mixture of 2-4-d, Tordon, and some adjuvant. When we sat down and figured out what it would cost us to mix these three things together compared to just buying the Grazon, the Grazon was cheaper on a per acre basis.........plus easier to handle. Some have said that the only time to control thistles is in the fall........well with Grazon I have had excellent luck before first bloom. Come back in the fall and nail what little is left and it will be gone for the most part the next year.
Better yet, why not see if she's willing to part with the old equipment? If nothing else, there are guys who will come and clean up your old iron at no charge as long as you give the iron to them. | |
