Marv has got it right. Here in the West, we are battling thousands of acres of infestation on marginal grazing land. Most often the tenant has to control, just like cutworm or corn rootworm.
Toss a couple of phostoxin toblets down the hole with a dash of water, then cover the hole with a sod plug. You could treat 15 acres in the time spent posting on this site.
