S.W. Manitoba | it's $2 per head per day. The guy raising them looks after everything including breeding. Owner pays for semen though. But in this area being it's Canada's dairy county, if you don't have a good conception rate and can't improve it then it's not the business for you. Bosses cousin has the highest in Canada. Everyone wants their heifers with him. They don't care for him but do like the way he takes care of them. Just what goes on up here.
