Subject: RE: Double LL Farrowing house

Alton, Ia
I see used LL barns for sale occasionally around here. No idea if moving them 400 miles would be feasible, but I'll see if I can find some of the ads.

If you are looking at them because they are portable, then wouldn't the investment in an outdoor pit kill that idea? I have no experience with these, I'm just wondering.

For the size you are talking, and low investment, hoop barns may be worthwhile. There are some feeders around here raising niche pork in hoops and supposedly making pretty good money at it. These guys make a system for hoop barn farrowing, with "nesting boxes", etc. I can't find their hog page, but here is there contact info for beef and it's the same guys.
