nw oh | Trying to get some final plans made for a new feedlot. Looking at barn similar to Garvo's that he has shown us. Trying to figure out how we want to make the feedbunks, instead of buying premade bunks. Idea we have is, pouring a 6" wall about 20-24" high on the side that we will feed. The barn posts will then sit on top of the wall. Then have a slab about 6" higher than the barn floor to dump the feed onto and then make a wood outside to keep the feed in.
My question is do you think there will be any problems with cattle reaching across that 6" wall to reach feed? There will be 750lb to finish holsteins in the barn. Any suggestions on heights to make it easy for them.
