We only give the cows minerals, unless we have very poor hay. Usually, we have good grass and good grass hay. The cows are fat. The calves are fat. Sometimes we will creep feed the calves in winter, but that is more for "fun" that necessity. Keeping feed costs down will improve net income. A least that is the way we do it.
