Subject: Picked the pears

Saronville, NE
Good morning! My husband raised SIL and I up on the loader yesterday to pick the Bartlett pears...some were falling off the tree ripe already, but most were green yet. I have sorted off the green ones to ripen in a box, and will keep checking them for ripeness. Does anyone have experience w/ canning pears, pear butter, pear-applesauce, etc. that I can make with the fruit? My SIL recommended cooking them down like when making applesauce and then freezing in bags, but I was thinking they might not freeze well because of their juicyness (sp). Anyone have ideas for me? TIA!
