Subject: Minor correction...

This spring's version of Apex has always been able to read GS2 data cards IF they were originally set up with the same copy of Apex. If Apex 1.2 has been released, then it can read data cards even when set up with other software. The problem with companies like MapShots not being able to read the GS2 data is a function of 1) no available sample data before the product hit the field, and 2) our own lack of resources for being able to implement the Deere software during the middle of the spring planting season.

I'm very frustrated that Deere walked away from an open standard for data exchange with the GS2. And their position on A/B lines effectively kills third-party software solutions. You can say you are "open" on 9 out of 10 features, but if the 10th is a show-stopper, then you are not open.

I just wanted to clarify the information about being able to read Deere data. I would also echo the comments of one other poster... the GS2 is working a lot better now than it did three weeks ago.
