Crawford County, Robinson, Illinois | I had not tried seeing if clicking on the diskette icon in Excel would save the file, but it did. So now I know I can save a file in Excel, but I cannot "Save As" a file. That piece of information seems to rule out Ed's suggestion that it is a security issue, I believe. So, the problem seems to be that I can bring up a file, save it, but not save it to a new location. The drop-down menu does not show up when I try to "Save as", the program just locks up and has to be terminated. When I bring up the file again, I can work with it. I cannot open a new file or an old one, as there is no selection box of files when I click on the "open" folder, again the program just hangs. I can bring up a program from the "my documents" folder on my desktop. Maybe I will get answers today from Microsoft's expensive support e-mail, if and when I do, I will report solutions here to let other know that might experience this problem. |
