What I read that you are saying is: "Save" may be working, but "Save As" does not work.
I think the first thing to do, and it is very easy. Take a document, make some changes in it, and then save it. Then go back and see if the changes were saved - either open the document and look, or go thru Explorer and look for the time and date of the last time that document was modified. (I think that should tell you something.)
If you find that "Save" works, and "Save As" does not, it might help to define your problem....... and point to solutions.
(of course, maybe I am understanding you wrong?)
