3/8 grade 70 would do it.
Even 5/16 grade 70 would.
Here you need 4 chains on the main rig any way. One on the boom and one on the attachment for 6 total.
Some officers allow the boomer to be hooked to the track but I have been told it is not legal. We are both in Iowa.
Oddly enough, the book for my hoe says to run the chains from side to side over the tracks. It says nothing about using the holes in the track frame.
I like to use those as they are easy to x from side to side to a D ring. That makes a more stable load. I have seen boomers hooked under a rail slide, especially if it is icy or wet.
I do know the fastening points on the trailer have ratings also. The flat beds were about the rating of a grade 70, 5/16 chain for the pockets and I think about that for the round spools.
I have no idea the d rings on my detach , and they are not marked.
