| I have a higher power door. Highly recommend. As jd4930 says, I like that it's self supporting. When my shed package dealer found out it was a higher power vs the others, he cut out almost 2,000# of steel out of the end wall, as it wasn't needed. We don't get much snow here, but the 6 inch straight up would help a lot for snow. Also, a huge thing to me is how it swings back inside the shop partway. Makes far less of an arc out front to hit vehicles that are parked there. Only disadvantage to swinging back into the shop is that it cuts off the first row of lighting in the shop. Also love the remote option. I have 3. Keep one in each pickup and one in the shop drawer. Saves a lot of time.
As far as clearance, if I recall correctly, the door needs about 6 or 8 inches of headroom. So in my case a 16' tall door required something like 16' 8".
When I built the shed, they had the option of putting a walkin door in the hydraulic door. Wish I would have done that, as I wouldn't have had to use up endwall space with a walk door there. And anytime the shed door is up, a walk door isn't needed anyway.
