Sac & Story county IA | I like the way a bifold door comes up out of snow and ice. With a rubber flap at the bottom, that will break loose from a lot of ice. On a hydraulic door that wide, the only lifting can come from the ends. The door has to be made really strong to stand that. A bifold can have any number of lifting points, keeping the deflection of door way less. As to speed, a 40 foot door can get by with a 56C motor and gearbox. Bigger door and if you want faster, that will need larger motor and gearbox. A lot more 56C stuff in the world. I have built a half dozen for my use. I don't know anything about buying a door. Except wild liability exposure for having a ton of weight up there looking for a reason to hurt somebody. | |
