Our hydraulic door is mounted offset to the building as well. Only 12” of room to the wall. From a practical standpoint I like it much better than a centered door. 40’ of room in the door path and 20’ off to one side of the door vs 10’ on each side of the door.
Lot of bifolds here are mounted at the bottom of a regular truss. They give up as much overhead height as an overhead door it looks like.
