Subject: Which relay, switch, connectors, etc to connect pull-type sprayer to tractor power

Fairfield County, Ohio, USA
We have a pull-type sprayer that has an onboard electric rinse pump that's required for eductor cleaning, incredibly useful for rinsing jugs, etc. We've found that we use it quite a bit. The wire harness that the sprayer came with was not appropriate for that pump -- it used connectors rated for 12A @ 12VDC, but with a 20A fuse. The pump's spec sheet (Shurflo 5059-3611-D011) says that its max draw is 20.9A at 12VDC. Not realizing that this configuration was insane, we put it behind a toggle switch that was rated for 10A (which melted down after the pump ran for... not long at all).

I want to fix this "the right way" once and for all, so that we stop burning up fuses, switches, and cables. Are there any brands/sellers that are better than others for this?

We want to be able to quickly disconnect the sprayer, so I'm going to need to use some kind of electrical connector at the back of the tractor (and leave the tractor-side of the harness connected to the battery). Anyone have suggestions for what connector we should use there, that is rated for 25A (required 21A plus margin)? The manufacturer used a Deutsch AT connector that seems to be rated for no more than 12A. I don't have crimping tools for anything right now, so I'll either be buying some, or might just pay one of the helpful folks on here to fabricate it for me.

Does it really seem reasonable that I'm going to need 8 AWG wire for this?! That seems awfully heavy to me, but I've tried two different wire gauge calculators and they've both said that (or larger). I was playing around with 20A-25A, loss of up to 10%, with 15-20 ft of cable total.
