We are going to be doing that. We have been doing the one cut system for some years now and as we have gotten better at growing sudex its tonned much more and been obvious the direct cut system is the way to go. Last year we mowed it (steering wheel height, just massive and thick) and chopper picked up with haylage head next day or two. Too much material to wilt in our short weather windows and bear to chop and super slow. Stuff was still super green but didn’t run at the pile at all. So this year gonna direct chop it, excited about it. Especially what it will do for the reduction of ash in the forage
