Wabash county,Il | I reread your post today and while I believe that 6’ bagger would be the ace deal I thought I’d throw another idea at you. Years ago a guy I know ran @15 beef cows and through the summer he’d collect his yard clippings, which he never mowed till at least a foot tall, and pack them in plastic 55 gallon barrels. Some of the barrels had airtight lids and some were just plain open top and he’d cover with plastic and tape it down tight. He’d use that plus the floor sweepings from a bean seed cleaning plant he worked at to supplement the old cows through the worse days of winter.
It would take a pile of barrels but for a few head I bet I could pack them tight enough for a barrel of silage a day.
