Subject: And since we are on the subject...

Blooming where I am planted!

of phone numbers, have you ever been to a store and first thing when you get to the checkout, they ask you what your phone number is?  I think that is SO intrusive!!  I tell them, Sure, I will give you my phone number--it's 1-800-NONEOFYOURBUSINESS.  That gets a chuckle out of some of them!

I don't mind giving my zip code.  But a phone number...well, that is pretty personal.

Some stores even require a phone number if you are doing a return.  When I have paid cash and have the receipt in hand, I see NO reason to give my phone number.  For that matter, if I have a receipt, then I don't see a reason for the darn phone number.  I have stood firm on that and the cashier will most times input "Refused" or "Unlisted" in the computer.  Some say they absolutely have to have it, so then I'll give them a nonsense phone number.  I think too many liberties are taken with our privacy these days.
