That was pretty pricey work back in 1977. I'm trying to go back that far but I'm thinking most regular jobs would have been paying less than $5 dollars an hour. Would have been quite the bill to get in the day.


I’m thinking heavy equipment operators, heavy hiway, union cat skinners wages 6.40 hr, 1972.

I’m also thinking co rented D9 a few yrs old for $100 an hour, our fuel, our operator.

Before I went Vietnam—-1968—I’m thinking D9 cat or 631 cushion hitch scraper were each around 100k—might have been few yrs earlier than that.
