| When we put the new impeller on the gear box it pulled down by tightening the nut until the bottom of the impeller was hitting the bottom housing. The fact that it had a nut on top made me think the shaft was tapered but it doesn’t seem to be. So we pulled it back up till it cleared and tightened the set screw. Is the set screw all that holds it up? The nut on top keeps it from coming up further. Didn’t want to put a spacer underneath and have it rub on the seal. | |
