Ag Leader now supplies cable 4004635-12 which has the female RJ45 connector for the Ontrac 3 on one end and the 4 pin M12 screw connection. This will do exactly what you want to do without tearing apart a good display cable. List price on it is $120. You can also make your own from parts from an electronic component distributor such as DigiKey. That is what I used to do before this cable was available.
