When I or we are home during a weekday, we let the phone screen the calls. If unkonwn or tol free caller, we don't answer. We figure if they really want to talk to us, they will leave a message. I do the same thing with the magazine renewals. I finally got a call (caller started to leave a message on phone so I picked it up) and it was a follow-up phone call for why I haven't filled out the questionairre. Told her I didn't do surveys for free when she was going to sell the information. She told me I would likely discontinue getting my free subscription. I told her I would advise a few of the advertisers (who really pay for the magazine) that you were taking some of their customers off the list. Have never missed an issue. Go figger.

Ain't this a lot like politics. They are telling us how much better they can make our lives if we just give them all our information.
