Subject: RE: Feeder cattle

Cherokee iowa
Had two bottle calf suppliers text wanting to sell calves today. I was wondering why then I saw the board today. I Asked what weaned price was and I had to pass. I think pens are full the ones that wanted to fill. Got to drop price to incentivize more expansion or others to fill up. Beautiful calves just not in the mood to hold a bottle while getting ready for harvest. In my younger days I would of filled up to the brim locked in prices and fed my $4.18 dollar corn. Instead hoping for a cool august so I don’t lose to much weight sweeping the bins. All I know is I just laid in 648 pounds of beef for 6.14 a pound. Prices are cheap if just buying the beef especially for prime. So we eating prime rib tonight. $50 for a usda stamp thought that was reasonable.
