Subject: RE: Sprayer boom remote

Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
I'm surprised that this is listed as "Normally Closed". To me "Normally Closed" would mean that the circuit is complete or "ON" until you push the button which would then cause it to be open or "OFF". This would seem to be the opposite of what you would want.

I've worked with these low end remotes in various situations and many have various options on them. Many can be programmed to behave in different ways such as momentary where the circuit would only be "ON" while your hold the button or latching where you would push the button a second time or use another button to change the status.

Changing the remote's behavior can sometimes be a bit tricky due to the poor or complete lack of instructions. These instructions are often written in Chinese translated to English.

Now that you have experienced success with these remotes on your sprayer, you may find other applications for them. Their range is somewhat limited which is good in many applications since you wouldn't want the remotes to work unless you were close by.

I am using similar remotes to control my Air Compressor in my fairly large shop. I purchased a kit with 4 remotes and a receiver that I tied into the Air Compressor power and Air valve for my Shop Air Compressor. It has an indicator light by the walk in door. This means I can activate or deactivate the Air Compressor from various locations in my shop. That set is programmed as "latching" since I want the system to remain ON or OFF without holding the button.

The "remote" portion of my basic garage door opener in my two car garage has failed. It continues to work with the actual simple momentary push button by the walk in door. I bought another set of 4 remotes and receiver for the garage. This set is programmed as momentary since I just want them to create a pulse to change the operation of the garage door opener.

We have a 12V DC electric hose reel on our tender truck. It can be operated with buttons on the reel or a remote. This worked fine last year. The remote does not work this year so the obvious problem would seem to be weak batteries. I disassembled it yesterday and noted two AAAA batteries. They are obviously of Chinese origin. I have not seen AAAA batteries before. They are skinny and long and each seems to test at 1.58 Volts. This reminds me to do a search on them this morning. My problem may be elsewhere.

Here's some remotes I made to work with my shop and shed door openers. These are a bit more complicated and allow me to use my phone to work with those doors. They use a direct version of WiFi that does not require the internet. This means that I must be in the dooryard for them to work which is fine for my purposes.
