NE IL | Full disclaimer, I’m young enough I’ve never row cultivated other than a few acres of sunflower food plots.
As I spray my first post pass on 3-4” tall beans planted 20 days ago I’ve been contemplating how to avoid 2 post passes in the future. We’re sprayed the day they were planted with prowl, authority and metribuzin. I don’t have a mess of weeds at this time but if I want to stay on label and help slow down weed resistance the 2-4” water hemp needs to be sprayed today. Throwing zidua in the mix but still assuming I’ll need a post pass in 20-30 days. Thought about getting a cultivator and hitting them now and coming back with liberty/enlist/zidua a couple weeks later. I’d much rather go to a more reduced tillage system but spraying the same chems on the same weeds twice or more in a season seems like a great way to ruin our last remaining product to kill waterheno. | |
