Subject: RE: Alzheimers preventable or reversible????

I am going to go off on a tangent here. A short summary of my brother's progression: In early June 2021, we were together and he seemed normal; a year later I visited him at the nursing home and he still knew me though he couldn't remember what he did the day before; a year later and I don't think he knew who I was though I was told he often asked about me; now I am told he doesn't know his wife but seems to be contented.
His dementia may have been preventable up to sometime late in 2021, but by the time he was put in the nursing home I don't believe it was reversible.
My speculation as to why he got it: in the late 20-teens, he was having sleep problems and I remember that in his late teens he had a few episodes of sleepwalking. I have never drank coffee and here my bias shows because he did and I figure it probably hurt his sleep.
