N.E. MO | Today I was walking out in the woods, looking for the boundary flags where I’m clearing timber. Saw this hawk hanging on the fence. Assumed it was dead until it turned its head and looked at me. I don’t much like them, but couldn’t just leave him hanging there. I very carefully cut the wire on each side of him and figure he’ll have a better chance of digging the wire out of his wing than I will. He’d obviously been there quite a while and I doubt he’ll make it.
