Subject: Upgrading 12 Row Deere Corn Head

Central NY
We’re looking to upgrade our 612c corn head for next season. Deere is our best local support parts wise. We would like to go to a folding head if we can find the right price with low acres.
What years should we look for in the late model used market? Is the new series better than the 712’s? Are the new gear boxes any better than our current 612 head? We do not run stalk master now to avoid maintenance and cost… but need at least a chopping type roll to size residue. Are the new Deere rowmax chopping rolls any better than Calmers?
Any feedback appreciated on what to look for spec wise on these newer heads
