Eastern SD | I feel like this is just beating a dead horse, but the more replicated trials you see the better decisions you can make. We tried Proven last year and had inconclusive results, they said N was not our limiting factor. So this year they gave us some "free" product and we tested again. These two fields were right across the road from each other.
First field got 100 units of urea dug in before planting, then the side dress portion got 13gallons of 28% at knee high. The seed was treated with Proven before planting. To be fair the P40 was along a tree grove so if you take those 12 rows out it did right at 200.
The second field got 110 units of Urea before plant and again got the same 13 gallons on the same day as the first trial. The P40 in this field was liquid mixed with water and put in furrow at 5 gallons per acre. Yes we did treat the water for chlorine.
Both trials were alternating every 24 rows across the test area, so should be pretty equal tests. Data came off the combine that was calibrated just before the test.
These trials came in significantly lower than our other fields in the area that had higher rates of preplant N.
